The 2014 photo competition was judged by Bill Bailey, here are the winners and his comments!
“The entrants were all excellent and it was a hard job to pick the winners.
The top three that I’ve chosen stood out as they are of a very high technical standard which show the rich colours of the subjects, but they also have something more than that.
For me, a good wildlife photo will not only show the subject, it will speak to us on another level, and have an immediate emotional impact on the viewer. The winning entries all have this.
They remind us of the mystery, the beauty and the delicate fragility of the natural world.
I chose Emma’s as the overall winner, because it shows us the wonderful strangeness, the rare and outlandish beauty that exists on our planet.
Wallace I’m sure would approve!”
