Welcome to the 6th annual Opwall Photo Competition!
The Operation Wallacea photo competition is an annual event that we hold to showcase some of the amazing photos some of our volunteers take each year on our expeditions.
First prize is a canvas print up to up to and including 120 x 80cm.
Second prize is a canvas print up to up to and including 90 x 60cm.
Third prize is a canvas print up to up to and including 90 x 60cm.
We also have a bonus prize of a canvas of 120cm x 80cm
First, second and third places are awarded by a judge from the 10 photos that receive the most votes from the public, after a month of voting. The bonus prize is picked by a vote between Opwall staff members!
Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities, who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research expeditions.
Research is supported by students who join the programme, to strengthen their CV or resume or collect data for a dissertation or thesis. Academics benefit from funding for high quality fieldwork enabling them to publish papers in peer reviewed journals. This model enables the collection of large temporal and spatial datasets used for assessing the effectiveness of conservation management interventions.
